Sabrina's Page

Man, the girl likes to talk! Sabrina jabbers with almost recognizable words and we'd swear she knows exactly what she's saying. We can sometimes pick out words. Her vocabulary of recognizable words has to be between 100 and 200. She can recite the alphabet and count to twenty unaided. Sometimes her pronunciation isn't perfect, but she's improved so much in what seems like a very short time. She picks up new phrases often after hearing them for the first time. Her smile and laugh can put us in a good mood instantly. She's amazing.

Sabrina has been navigating stairs for awhile by herself, but today she did it without first getting down on her knees! Using the railing for support she slowly made her way up. She still drops to her knees and turns around to back down the stairs (feet first), but she's really good at it. It's fun to watch. You can tell she's very proud of herself...as are we of course!

Sabrina and I had a special day together for just us! She went down the curly slide all by herself. She stopped a couple times on the way down, but seemed to enjoy it. She loves to swing and says "weeee".

Oh cripes...she's walking...look out! (8o)> It was just two months ago that she started crawling!! That went fast. You can tell she's a little scared of falling, but getting more courageous all the time.

Sabrina is doing so well. Her vocabulary is at least 35 easily recognizable words. She such a clever little girl. She's still a huge book fan. She looks at her pile of books every day and we read to her before bedtime every night...at least! It's a great way to steal a snuggle with her. That's the best!

Just arrived home from Papa and Grandma's house in AZ. Sabrina loved the warm weather and was a very good traveler. She did great on the plane.

Sabrina is finally crawling!! She's mobile now, which changes our world considrably, but it's fun. She's really having a good time getting around.

Birthday number one! Sabrina is doing great. Her one-year checkup was stellar. She has a great disposition. She sleeps through the night every night with so few exceptions that it's practically zero. She's getting so big!

We just arrived home from Colorado to visit my folks and my sister (and her dog Simba). We decide to drive out which was long but enjoyable. Sabrina handled the trip really well. Everyone was very excited to see Sabrina...oh and I guess they kinda wanted to see Melissa and I too. Sabrina had a big giggle when Simba gave her a kiss on her face. Cute.

Here come the teeth! Her two middle bottom ones came together. That's gotta hurt. She's handling it pretty well though. What a trooper! She's still as noisy as ever. I'd swear she knows exactly what she's saying. I have to find a book to translate from "super secret baby language" to english. heh

Well Melissa starts back to work on Monday (3/19) and Sabrina goes to day care for the first time. Scary. I wish we had the means to have Melissa stay at home. Our day care lady comes highly recommended and she has over thirty years experience. Sabrina (aka Blueberry or Doodle) continues to be great; she's getting bigger and stronger and has been sleeping through the night for almost a month now. Her cooing and little smiles melt away the day's woes and are very addictive. It's hard to get anything done when you've got a cute little baby girl to hang with.

Sabrina (Blueberry) is still doing great. We're a little sleep deprived, but not too bad. It's weird that I have a daughter, but very cool. Dadhood is agreeing with me.

Sabrina (Blueberry) is doing great. Melissa is trying to adjust to her new home life with Sabrina. Melissa will head back to work in March most likely.

The baby is here, the baby is here!!! We've decided to name her "Sabrina Mindy Grell". I call her Blueberry as that's the color she was just after birth (and that's my favorite type of pie). She is beautiful and doing great!! What a wonderful early Christmas present she is. She was born @ 5:24pm on 12/23/06 weighing in at 8.83 pounds and measuring at 20.5 inches. Melissa is doing great, she handled the birth like a pro.

Well, baby is a week late. We just came back from the hospital. We had an ultrasound done. Here's a few pics, the first of the face (laying on it's left side) and the second of the foot (upside down with the heel in the upper left). We've told baby over and over to come out...it's already not listening to it's parents...heh...We're heading back to the hospital for more tests soon. The outcome of the tests will dictate when induction will happen, etc.

Here are pics from an ultrasound done at about 20 weeks along. The first is a profile shot, the second is one of the baby's face (turned on it's left). Very cool!!
